Elijah’s Park

Seamless Illumination for a Community Landmark

Elijah’s Park, named in honor of the late U.S. Representative Elijah Cummings, is a new civic space connecting retail and commercial destinations just outside the Under Armour campus on Baltimore’s redeveloped waterfront. Designed to support both movement and gathering, the park features sculptural pavilion elements, integrated landscape architecture, and flexible open space for visitors.

To bring this space to life after dark, Flux Studio specified a Lumascape lighting solution that combines control, visual consistency, and subtle integration within the site.

In-Grade Uplighting for Sculptural Elements

At the center of the park, Erden E4 in-grade uplights illuminate the large tree shade structures with smooth white-to-color transitions, creating a dynamic canopy effect that shifts from clean architectural tones to deep, saturated hues throughout the evening.

The uplights are set directly in the paving, maintaining clear sightlines and eliminating the need for visible poles or hardware—preserving the minimal, modern aesthetic of the space.

Discreet Floodlighting for Landscape Elements

Nearby trees structures are lit from planting beds using LS1015 Centria C3 surface-mounted floodlights. The compact form and low-profile installation allow the fixtures to remain discreet within the landscape during the day while contributing to the evening atmosphere with consistent color output.

Because both Erden and Centria luminaires are operated through a unified RGBW control system, the entire lighting scheme maintains a cohesive tone and rhythm, regardless of fixture type or mounting location.

Lighting Solutions for Contemporary Public Spaces

Lumascape products are built for versatile integration in complex environments, whether set in paving or planted areas. With RGBW capability, precise optics, and unobtrusive forms, solutions like the Erden E4 and Centria C3 enable lighting designers to deliver impactful results while protecting the integrity of public space design.
