A New Look for a Montreal Landmark
Located on Île Notre-Dame in the heart of Montreal, the Casino de Montréal is one of Canada’s most iconic entertainment destinations. Originally constructed for Expo 67, the structure is known for its bold geometric shapes and reflective surfaces. To enhance its visibility and appeal after dark, Loto-Québec commissioned a façade lighting upgrade that would modernize the building while respecting its unique architecture.
RGBW Lighting to Enhance the Architecture
The lighting design called for RGBW luminaires capable of dynamic color mixing and smooth dimming, allowing the building to display different tones for special occasions, public events, and seasonal celebrations.
More than 300 LED fixtures were installed across multiple façades of the casino complex, replacing the previous static system. Lumascape’s Quadralux Q6 and Q8 luminaires were chosen for their optical precision, high output, and rugged build, ensuring reliable performance in Montreal’s demanding climate.
These compact yet powerful floodlights offer flexible mounting options and consistent color rendering, making them ideal for a multi-surface façade like the Casino de Montréal.
Seamless Control and Flexibility
The entire lighting system is managed via the DMX protocol, giving operators fine-grained control over each luminaire or lighting zone. This enables custom lighting scenes that align with brand campaigns, city-wide celebrations, or unique event requirements.
Thanks to simplified cabling and integration with the existing infrastructure, the lighting upgrade delivers both visual impact and operational efficiency—with minimal maintenance and maximum flexibility.
