Facade
The new headquarters of digital asset firm Copper is located in a distinctive 1990s Richard Rogers-designed glass building in London’s vibrant Soho district. To give the façade a recognizable night-time presence while maintaining a sense of privacy, the lighting design team reimagined the structure as a secure copper vault. The result is a glowing symbol of trust and innovation in the world of digital finance.
Behind the building’s transparent façade, a sheer curtain acts as a soft projection surface. As daylight fades and the curtains are drawn, a gentle, animated lighting sequence begins. The folds of the fabric catch warm pulses of amber light, creating a glowing, copper-toned presence that feels both inviting and secure. This subtle effect blends naturally into the area’s bustling hospitality scene.
The lighting effect is powered by the Lumascape Linealux L1 Mini Grazer, a low-profile luminaire measuring just 1.1 inches wide. Designed for compact architectural spaces, the L1 delivers a rich metallic wash with precise optical control. It is ideal for subtle façades and interior-facing treatments like this one.
Equipped with EasyGlow visual comfort optics, CoolDrive thermal management, and PowerSync digital control, the L1 allows advanced DMX and RDM programming without extra wiring. This combination of compact form, flexible control, and visual refinement helped transform the original concept into a reliable and maintainable feature for the brand.
In the world of digital finance, where security and transparency are essential, Copper’s headquarters lighting creates a quiet yet powerful visual metaphor. The soft amber glow communicates strength, trust, and sophistication, values that define the Copper brand, while adding a warm layer of light and texture to the Soho streetscape.
Lumascape’s product range enables architects and lighting designers to integrate compact, high-performance luminaires into even the most challenging architectural contexts. From retail to workplace façades, Lumascape solutions support creative vision with precision, efficiency, and long-term reliability.
